How do I book?
Firstly, give us a call or send an email to check our avalibility. If we are free, we can hold the date for up to seven days, by which time you will need to sign a copy of the contract and pay a 30% deposit. The outstanding balance should be settled seven weeks before the agreed date. We accept all major forms of payment, and those using credit or debit cards through our PayPal account will not incur a handling fee for deposits.

Are there any conditions attached to your 3 week turnaround?

We like to edit the footage straight away while memories are fresh, often starting the first cut on the following Monday. We don’t overbook, filming a maximum of two weddings per week. Provided we have everything you wish to include in your highlights (photographs, music, etc.) at least ten days before your wedding day, we believe three weeks is more than enough time. Why wait longer?

What is the turnaround time for a fully edited film
On the whole around 5wks

Most clients would be looking at a 5wk turnaround and we will be advising while your footage is in post-production. For Long Form weddings we will supply a delivery date at time of booking

What will you wear?
Our aim is to blend in and we will dress appropriately, with any suggestion welcome

Would you sign a NDA or privacy agreement
Yes

We have, over the years, signed quite a few NDAs or privacy agreements. Occasionally, it is a prerequisite for the venue, though they are mainly used by people who are well known within their professional environment and want to cover all bases.

Will you really blend in?
Approachable yet invisible is what we aim for.

Unlike photographers who actively encourage participation with the camera, our stock-in-trade is documenting natural, live scenes. This is achieved through a combination of subtle positioning, selecting the right lenses, planning the audio, and drawing on years of muscle memory in operating cameras.

What input can I have?
As much or as little as you like.

Leave everything to us, or you can use our experience to get exactly what you are after. We have a whole host of ideas that we can discuss with you to help you make the most of our services.

Can I have a camera each for the couple’s separate preparations?
Absolutely, it makes for a great film.

The preparations add fun and a bit of drama to the whole proceedings. As we cut back and forth in the lead up to the big moment showing the couple’s last moments of singledom.

Will you edit out all the audio from our day and replace it with music?
No We think the sound is just as important as the images

We use a variety of audio sources throughout your wedding day to create a sound mix of all the natural audio. During editing, we then create a master mix so that the speech, laughter, ambience, and the music all complement each other seamlessly.

One or Two Cameras?

Choose one camera for a personal, documentary feel, or two for a polished, cinematic experience.

A single wedding videographer offers a light, documentary style approach. Subtlely capturing the big day unfolding. Unobtrusive filming capturing moments that are personal and natural.

With two videographers you get pace. During the ceremony, one camera could highlight the couple’s hands while the other captures a wide shot of the audience. In edit each shot is used to cover the other camera’s reframing. The following shot could be a mid on the couple, followed by a panning loose tight on the parents. Being able to edit seamlessly between perspectives like this, builds a dynamic rhythm similar to film or television.

For large celebrations with many guests, we would suggest using two or more cameras to ensure coverage for all your touchstone moments.

Can you film messages from family and friends on the day?
We often find that once the wedding ceremony has finished, and guests start to unwind they may notice us for the first time. Often wishing to conduct mini interviews and to wish the happy couple, best wishes for the future. We think this is great, and right throughout the day we are available for requests.

What other things can you do?
All kinds of things. For example we can place a camera for time lapse to cover all kinds of stuff, like the preparations at the reception, or the brides home. We can even incorporate your own video footage into the final film. In fact anything that you have seen on TV from mini cameras placed in the wedding car, to swooping over head aerial shots of the garden reception, we can do the lot.

How long will our fully edited film be?
Generally a fully edited wedding video will play for 40 mins to an hour for one and two videographers

Long Form Weddings clients can expect 60-90mins feature length film. Which can extend up to 120mins with highlights, extra footage and “back stage”.

Full Frame HD or Full Frame 4K
If your day is schedualed mainly outdoors in fabulous sunshine consider Full Frame 4K. If you plan to move locations filming mainly interiors, Full Frame HD may be the way to go.

Each pixel on a sensor has a tiny “frame” around it which is unable to read light. The more pixels you have the more the detail increases but the more light you need. And as 4K cameras have a crazy number of pixels we recomend using them for wedding where there is going to be lots of natural light. Our home page sample video is shot in Full Frame HD

+ Geek
In broadcast the baseline standard for content is Full Frame 35mm (36 mm × 24 mm) The sensor is large enough to capture plenty of light while being compatable with all the lovely broadcast, cinematic and photography lenses designed for 35mm film stock. One of the consequences is that HD filmed with a Full Frame 4K sensor, down-samples the image anyway So we shoot HD on Full Frame HD cameras and 4K on a Full Frame 4K ones because light is everything.

How long do you keep the masters in archive?
We hope to keep the wedding video masters “indefinitely”

Maybe around 10% of our clients return, some many years after we filmed their wedding to confirm we still have their footage and in most cases we still do. Although we only store the data on a single physical drive and are unable to offer a garentee of retrieval. There are charges to mount the drive onto our server and to unwrap the footage for export. However we do not charge for storage and include it for free in most of our services.

Do you offer reduced rates for publicity, advertising, or to appear on your showreel or wedding video samples?

A not unheard of practice in the world of wedding videography is to trade discounts or extra services in return for satisfaction quotes or unrealistic showreel examples. This is not something we do. We select video examples only after the event, and our satisfaction quotes have always been unsolicited.

Will you pass on my details for cross marketing?
We don’t do that either.

All of your personal details remain with us, we do not pass them on to anyone else. If you book with us, you will not find yourself inundated with offers from, floral designers and cake makers.

What else should I be aware of ?
When selecting a film or video company we would suggest some of the big questions are;
Who is actually filming my wedding video and can I meet them beforehand (Even to see if it’s possible)
Who is my point of contact after the wedding?
If I want 2 videographers will they be using identical cameras, shooting at what data rate?
Below is a real extract from an ad posted under the lo/no pay section of a crewing website. “We are looking for people to help out on some wedding video shoots. Looking for people with own equipment….It is expenses only at this stage but potential for paid work in the future….” Quite an extreme example but one that highlights the importance of a convincing answer to who is actually pressing the record button

Do you use lighting?

How will you get to the venue?
Being based near Portobello Road often means we are often only a few miles away from the venue. So generally to avoid parking issues we use cabs. However if we are filming outside the M25 or if its a multicam shoot we may consider driving.
